About the Role
As a Quality and Compliance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations meet global compliance, regulatory standards, and customer requirements. This position involves a blend of quality management, regulatory coordination, project management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to navigate the complexities of international chemical shipping and compliance certification.
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Quality Strategy and Leadership: Develop and direct quality objectives in line with business growth and monitor performance against these goals, fostering a culture of quality across the organization.
  • QMS Oversight: Manage and refine the Quality Management System, ensuring adherence to industry standards, including driving efforts maintaining ISO and IATF certifications.
  • Issue Resolution: Lead the resolution of quality issues in collaboration with cross functional internal teams and external partners, ensuring prompt and effective root cause identification and corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Compliance Management: Ensure all products meet international shipping regulations and manage documentation, including GHS labels and MSDS content.
  • Importation and Registration: Handle importation logistics and registrations to country-specific requirements, working with both internal resources and external entities.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Leveraging software tools and external experts, stay updated on global chemical regulations, acting as point of contact for regulatory inquiries providing guidance on chemical inventory inclusion, regulatory exemptions, and importation strategies.
  • Process Optimization: Streamline compliance processes to improve efficiency across regulatory tasks, aligning Harmonized System (HS) codes and other processes.

Who We Need
Our ideal Quality and Compliance Manager will possess the following experience and skills:
 
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in quality management, compliance, and regulatory affairs within the chemical industry.
  • Regulatory and Certification Knowledge: Familiar with international chemical regulations, GHS, ISO, IATF standards, and quality management systems.
  • Project Management and Leadership: Strong project management capabilities with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving quality improvements.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Multitasking and Adaptability: Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to regulatory changes.
  • Detail Orientation: Committed to producing high-quality deliverables, comfortable with the agility and ambiguity of a startup environment.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, with additional languages beneficial due to the international scope of the role.
