With a strong global technical team, we develop and manufacture coatings that protect printed circuit boards in electronics, allowing them to function in water-laden environments. We work with the biggest brands in the consumer electronics and automotive industries to increase product reliability and improve product performance in wet and humid conditions. Not only do we provide a portfolio of coatings, but we also work closely with our customers to help solve some of their most difficult problems through rapid innovation and ingenuity.   

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Development Engineer/Scientist to join our talented and diverse technical team. This position will focus developing novel coatings platforms from lab-to-scale to address customer needs.

As a Product Development Engineer/Scientist, you will:

• Develop novel coating platforms, test metrics, and design experiments by working in a lab-based environment with minimal day-to-day guidance;

• Expand actnano’s coating portfolio by innovating on current coating technology and develop new coating platforms;

• Collaborate with sales or technical service to address customer requests;

• Work with manufacturing team on scaling of coating from lab or pilot scale to a manufacturing environment;

• Communicate technical advances internally with other members of the company and interact with external vendors, independent testing laboratories, and customers to explain and troubleshoot application of the technology;

• Develop hypotheses and conduct experiments to improve understanding and performance of actnano’s coating technology by coordinating with various team members;

Who We Need

Our ideal Product Development Engineer/Scientist will possess the following experience and skills:

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering or associated technical field;
• Previous industry experience with coating development or application;
• Detail-oriented and committed to producing high quality deliverables (even when deadlines are tight), and comfortable with the agility and ambiguity of a startup environment;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to travel in the U.S.;
